We currently offer shipping through Canada Post and Purolator, and work hard to ensure that your order arrives safely, promptly, and in great condition. While we do our best to meet the needs of every customer, there are some important limitations on our liability. Below you’ll find our shipping terms, including policies around temperature-sensitive items, product inspection, optional insulated packaging, and our responsibility once items are in the hands of the shipping carrier. Please take a moment to review these terms carefully before placing your order.
1. Shipping Responsibility
We take great care in packaging our products to ensure they arrive in optimal condition. However, once a package is handed over to the shipping carrier, we are not liable for:

Delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier.

Environmental factors such as freezing or overheating during transit.

Mishandling or improper storage by the customer after delivery.
Customers are encouraged to file claims directly with the shipping carrier for any issues arising during transit.
2. Temperature-Sensitive Products
Certain products, including mushroom spawn, cultures, and fruiting blocks, are sensitive to temperature extremes. To mitigate risks we offer:

Insulated Packaging and Ice packs: We offer insulated packaging and ice packs as an optional add-on at checkout. This is highly recommended during periods of extreme heat or cold.

Customer Responsibility: It is the customer's responsibility to select appropriate packaging based on their local weather conditions. We do not assume liability for temperature-related damages if insulated packaging is not selected. Please refer to the information below to help guide you on choosing the best packaging for your needs.
Temperature Guidelines for Shipping Mushroom Spawn and Fruiting Blocks (not applicable for non perishable items)

Above 27°C: We recommend selecting insulated shippers with ice packs when daytime temperatures exceed 27 C. This helps ensure that the spawn remains healthy and viable upon arrival.

Between 20°C and 27°C: While not always necessary, using insulated packaging can be beneficial, especially if there's a risk of temperature fluctuations during transit.

Below 20°C: Insulated packaging is generally not required.

Below 0°C: Be cautious of freezing temperatures, as freezing can damage or kill the mycelium. It's recommended to choose insulated packaging at checkout

3. Product Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers must inspect all shipments within 24 hours of receipt. If any issues are identified:

Take clear photographs of the product and packaging.

Contact us at support@amelium.ca within 24 hours, providing the photographs and a detailed description of the issue.
Failure to report issues within this timeframe may affect eligibility for replacements or refunds.
4. Returns and Refunds
Due to the perishable nature of some of our products:

Non-Returnable Items: Mushroom spawn, cultures, and fruiting blocks are non-returnable.

Refunds: Refunds are not provided for damages resulting from carrier mishandling, environmental factors during shipping, or improper storage by the customer.
We guarantee our spawn, cultures, and fruiting blocks to be free from contamination — see our [Guarantee Policy] for full details.
If you receive a product that is unusable due to issues within our control, we offer replacements for affected spawn, cultures, or fruiting blocks.
To be eligible, you must contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order, including clear photographs of the product and packaging. This allows us to assess the issue and determine whether a replacement is warranted.
5. Shipping Address Accuracy
Please insure all address' are accurate for a seamless delivery experience. Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. Amelium.ca is not liable for:

Packages delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.
6. International Shipping
Currently, we ship only within Canada and do not offer international or U.S shipping.
7. Late-Week Shipping Policy
To reduce the risk of packages sitting in carrier facilities over the weekend and being exposed to uncontrolled temperatures, we follow this policy:

Orders containing temperature-sensitive items (like spawn and fruiting blocks) placed after 12:00 PM (noon) Wednesday may be held and shipped the following Monday. Or alternatively, customers may choose express or priority shipping at checkout.

This policy helps preserve product viability and is in the best interest of the customer.
